This live and interactive online course is an in-depth review of all aspects of spousal maintenance including: why can it be difficult to achieve a clean break?; does 'a meal ticket for life' still exist?; and what is the effect of 'equality' on maintenance.
The virtual classroom session is presented by popular speaker Liz Cowell, a practitioner with over 30 years' experience who also sits as a Deputy District Judge.
Liz covers all the nuts and bolts that you must know, looking at all the relevant legislation as well as recent case law and future trends. She also covers variations, capitalising periodical payments and the key Miller v McFarlane case. She discusses income from pensions, including the different forms of pension; child support's impact on spousal maintenance; and the impact of the Children Act 1989.
