Course description

This entertaining and informative in-person seminar is an ideal introduction for any practitioner interested in education law.


Presented by Alastair Hodge, an employment law specialist and experienced speaker, the session is literally an A to Z of education law, covering everything from Admissions to the relevance of the port of Zeebrugge to education law.


In between, you'll learn about all the issues to be aware of in this fascinating and varied area of law, including the law and procedures for secondary school admissions; school inspections; restraint of pupils; and jewellery. There are sessions on conduct issues in relation to teachers; schools' responsibilities as occupiers; legal requirements for work experience; school attendance orders; and even xylophones. The session also covers how to deal with pupils who express a desire to undergo gender reassignment.
