Training Course Content
- What do I need to know as a Clinical Supervisor of an International Medical Graduate.
- Assessment of prior capabilities, an introduction to differential attainment explains the gap in attainment levels between different groups of doctors, contributing factors and mitigating measures.
- Assessment of communication skills and patient expectations such as communication options, treatment options, consent and decision-making.
- An introduction to the NHS, its purpose, complex structure and organisation and how care is delivered and funded.
- How to work in teams, how NHS teams are formed, individual roles, common issues that may arise in multi-professional team working.
- Understanding cultural identity including the unique communication and linguistics native to the UK.
- Learning needs assessment to meet F2 standards and junior doctor-level capability.
- Placement planning meeting.
- Personal development plan for first 3 months.
- Use of an e-portfolio.
- What GMC does / appraisals / revalidation entail? We look at the General Medical Council (GMC) responsibilities and how trainees’ own duties tie in.
