In this course, you will learn the meaning of the term ‘addiction’, as well as the types, signs and indicators of addiction. You will learn about the risks factors which may contribute to developing an addiction and actions that can be taken in response to concerns about addiction, within the boundaries of confidentiality. This workbook will also enable you to understand the treatments available for different types of addiction and the barriers that may prevent individuals from seeking treatment. You will also understand transitional care from treatment to recovery.

This course is suitable for anyone who is interested in developing their knowledge and understanding of addiction and recovery. There are no specific entry requirements for this course. Basic understanding of English language, literacy, numeracy and ICT are required to complete this course.
