Course description
This course aims to provide learners with a specialised range of up to date Barbering techniques. Level 3 is ideal if you have a wide range of hairdressing or barbering experience for a minimum of 12 months, and you wish to develop your skills in this specialised area. You may require this qualification for liability insurance purposes or to learn a particular technique.
Content
- Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
- Hairdressing consultation support for colleagues
- Cut men's hair to create a variety of looks
- Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks
- Provide shaving and face massage services
Optional Unit
- Provide scalp massage services
Learners can progress into employment as a barber or progress onto a Higher National Certificate in Hair & Beauty Management.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Applicants must have successfully completed a Level 2 course in Hairdressing or Barbering. Applicants must be employed within the Hairdressing/Barbering industry, with a minimum of 12 months experience. In addition, applicants who are aged 16 - 19 are required to work towards GCSE grade C in English/Maths.
