Course description
This course is intended for candidates who are curious about counselling and who want to find out more, perhaps as a step towards further training or for their own personal development. Successful completion leads to an award by the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). The course aims to: Provide an introduction to basic counselling skills and the beginnings of an understanding of counselling practice and ethics; Provide knowledge of some basic underpinning theory of counselling; Assessment includes an ongoing learning journal, a practical assessment of skills and an external exam (one hour). Successful completion of this course would be useful to anyone considering applying for the Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Counselling.
