Therapeutic Counselling Level 4 CPCAB Diploma
This course is designed to train you to be a qualified counsellor - after achieving it you will be qualified to work in a counselling agency.

Suitability - Who should attend?
GCSE English language grade C or above, or equivalent Minimum age 21 You will need to have completed Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Counselling Studies and Skills or equivalent.
Course delivery details
Classroom discussion, presentations and lectures, DVDs, skills exercises and role plays. Homework: You will need to allow plenty of time for reading, reflecting and writing assignments. You will also be required to attend personal therapy and find and attend a placement including attending supervision (100 client hours with a minimum of 5 clients needed to pass the course).
Continuing Studies
This course qualifies you to work as a counsellor in an agency setting and is an important step towards being able to work in private practice. Completion of a further Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (120 hours) prepares you to work fully independently e.g. in private practice. Alternatively you could study the Psychotherapeutic Counselling Level 5 CPCAB Diploma, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 5 CPCAB Diploma or an Open University Foundation Degree. You could also go into private practice after a period of working as an agency counsellor. You may also be eligible to study on the BA (Hons) ‘top up’ degree at Guildford College if you have Accredited Prior Learning at Level 5, or for entry in 2019 with a tutor recommendation for Level 6 study.
