Course description
The BTEC Level 2 Technical Diploma in Audio/Visual Production is an exciting and challenging course which encourages you to gain media specific knowledge, technical and practical skills enabling you to make informed choices with regard to a future career. The Level 2 is a nationally-recognised qualification designed to prepare young people for the real world through practical activities and industry-fit-for-purpose assessments. Alongside the course you will be able to retake those all-important English and Maths GCSEs.
The qualification has been developed in consultation with employers in the digital audio/visual sector to ensure that you develop the skills and behaviours that give you the best opportunity to be successful in applying for apprenticeships and further education. learners will cover Planning and Pitching a Media Product, Moving Image Production, Editing for Moving Image, Audio Production, Lighting and Filming. There is an externally assessed controlled assessment Unit as part of the course and Work Experience is mandatory. The course aims to develop a foundation of skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers in the media production sector of the Creative Industries. The programme includes Mathematics and English at an applicable level.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Students will need to have four GCSEs at grades D-E/3-2 or equivalent including English and Mathematics. Successful interview and satisfactory reference. Evidence of visual and written work.
