Course description
Sprains and strains are common musculoskeletal injuries among physically active individuals. This module offers a brief overview of their management, following the PRICE principle (protection, rest, ice, compression, elevation) to reduce swelling and facilitate healing. As per NICE recommendations, paracetamol or topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the main choices for pain relief in these injuries. The module focuses on diclofenac, which is extensively studied as a topical NSAID for musculoskeletal conditions.
