Course description
In the UK, Caesarean section (CS) deliveries rose from 19.7% of births in 2000 to 26.2% in 2015. Recent figures for 2019 indicate that approximately 30% of births in England were carried out via CS. Some are planned (elective), while others are conducted as emergencies due to pregnancy or labour complications. Regardless of the circumstances, healthcare professionals should provide women with consistent evidence-based guidance regarding CS wound healing, the risk of surgical site infection (SSI), and preventive measures.
