Course description
The technical qualification is split into 2 component parts:
Year 1 (Core component) - The core includes learning about the healthcare sector, health and safety, person centered care and infection control.
Year 2 (Occupational Specialism components) - Specialist pathways can be chosen which may include supporting the adult nursing team and supporting the therapy teams.
Students who achieve this qualification could progress to the following careers:
- Apprenticeship
- Employment (e.g. Healthcare Support Worker in a health setting; Senior Healthcare Support Worker in a health setting).

- Entry requirements
5 x GCSEs grade 9-4 (grade A -C), including English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit or above.
Students with 4 x GCSEs grade 9-4 (grade A- C), including English and Maths, should apply and will be interviewed.
Candidates require a DBS check. - Who is the course for?
