Course description
Digital Forensics First Response (DFFR) 2 day course
This two-day forensics course is designed to allow a ‘competent’ member of technical staff to collect computer evidence in a safe and acceptable manner. The course will include coverage of the latest ACPO guidelines and safe handling of evidence in addition to assessment of an incident and subsequent sound acquisition of digital evidence.
Regardless of the nature of a digital incident and where it has happened, first response is the most critical stage. Incorrect handling of evidence at this stage could destroy vital evidence and/or lead to a case being inadmissible in court. It is imperative that the digital forensic process and strategy are beyond question. Successful completion of this course and the associated assessment will confer Digital Forensic First Responder status and state competence to collect digital evidence for use in a UK court of law. Full details of this course and the associated assessment are available on the Simplify IT website.
