Course description
This course for veterinary nurses will contain both lectures and practical components, covering the most common techniques in critical care nursing. Practical sessions will involve use of dummy models and equipment, so candidates may apply the theoretical skills and feel confident in their own techniques.
Specific areas to be covered:
- Oxygen therapy options
- Placing and maintaining oxygen catheters
- Feeding tube placement and nutritional support plans
- Central venous catheters use – placement and management
- Tracheostomy tube placement and care (theoretical)
- CPR following the RECOVER guidelines
