Essential Writing Skills
This Essential Writing Skills workshop provides participants with the techniques to ensure that every document they they write is able to meet its desired objective. Attendees will be able to become more effective and focused in their work by being able to reduce the time spent on drafting and re-editing.
The one-day workshop will cover all the techniques essential for improving written communications. Participants may bring in their current work (such as a submission for ministers, letters to the public, or simple emails) so that they can review their own approaches in comparison to the techniques explained during the workshop and get expert advice.
By attending this workshop, participants will attain a greater understanding of how to:
- Achieve common understanding between writer and reader with the minimum number of exchanges
- Get everything right at the very first attempt – content, structure and style
- Understand how to get to the point at the beginning
- Encourage precisely the response they intend
- Avoid details that is confusing or is irrelevant
- Project the corporate image appropriately
