Course description
Computing Skills for Life and Work - Beginners:
Subject Contents/Topics to be covered:
- Keyboard and mouse skills (understand different keys, how to click the mouse and select)
- Employability skills will be used throughout the course (communication, time keeping, organisational skills)
- Word Processing (entering, editing basic text, saving and printing)
- Internet Explorer (basic searching for information on the internet, navigating web pages and using links).
Teaching/Learning Methods:
- Hands on practice by learners
- Tutor led sessions
- One to one tutor sessions
- Worksheets and exercises
- Textbooks
Assessment Pattern:
Continuous informal tasks throughout course (a completed personal learning plan tracking your learning, examples of tasks completed).
By the end of the course the learners will be able to:
- Use keyboard and mouse skills
- Move around the Windows environment
- Use Microsoft Word 2016 to understand how to select and make choices in a program
- Use basic word processing skills
- Access the internet to do simple searches
- Understand different applications.
