Investigation Skills Training • One-Day In-House Course
Certain scenarios in the workplace occur where management must investigate allegations of malpractice. Whether these allegations signify a breach of the law, or a breach of company policy, managers need to interview the suspected employee, together with any witnesses to the negligence or misconduct.
Such scenarios can put managers in a tough position, as they often do not have the experience or knowledge, of how to conduct an investigative interview. A person being interviewed may be evasive, angry, lying, or the victim of an injustice, and managers need special training in handling this type of investigative interview.
This one-day training course is intended to help your managers investigate instances of misconduct, bullying, harassment, as well as disciplinary and grievance issues, according to proper practices and standards.
Upon successful completion of this training course, delegates will be able to:
- Conduct professional and effective investigative interviews.
- Distinguish between admissible evidence and hearsay evidence.
- Identify the difference between truthful and evasive responses.
- Notice contradictions, gaps and lies in statements.
- Take proper notes during interviews.
This course can be delivered face-to-face in-house or via Microsoft Teams as Interactive Online Learning.

- Conducting interviews with individuals suspected of wrongdoing (Part 1 & 2)
- Recognising significant cues in body language
- Creating a summarised action plan for conducting investigative interviews
