Course description
Overview
The ‘baby-boomers’ are maturing fast…the population is getting older. This demographic shift brings a raft of challenges, but also opportunities. This course will equip you with the practical skills to deal with elderly clients as well as an overview of the most important areas of law for this generation including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Advance Decisions. Practical case studies will be covered in the course.

- Identify difficult areas of conduct when dealing with elderly clients, especially third party instructions and ethical duties.

- Recognise the importance of making living wills for all clients.
- Understand the role of Lasting Powers of Attorneys.

This course may be undertaken as a PSC elective, although it may also be attended by non-trainees.
