A Solicitor Advocate’s Guide to Conducting a Short Jury Trial
This course introduces you to the key knowledge and skills required to conduct a trial in the Crown Court. It is for any Solicitor Advocate, or aspiring Solicitor Advocate, who either is yet to conduct a jury trial or who wishes to hone their skills during the early stages of already conducting Crown Court trials.
The course will use a case study to investigate how to prepare effective speeches and questioning plans in readiness for the jury trial.
This course will also introduce issues which commonly arise in jury trial work such as court etiquette, order of proceedings, jury management, the indictment, character and hearsay issues, special measures, disclosure and verdicts.
