Textiles - Upholstery - Intermediate & Advanced
This course will enable you to develop basic levels of skill, or to build on existing levels of skill in using upholstery techniques and equipment to spring and cover items of furniture

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone, including beginners, with an interest in restoring and upholstering items of furniture.
Entry requirements
You won’t need experience of upholstery for this course. However, because the course involves taking notes and measurements you will need to have basic levels of English and maths. You will have a short initial assessment at the start of the course to ensure that it is suitable for you.
Training Course Content
What will I learn?
- How to use tools and equipment correctly and safely
- To take and record measurements for your chosen project
- How to prepare a project to be reupholstered and apply materials
- An awareness of employment opportunities in the upholstery industry
How will I learn?
- Tutor demonstration and instruction
- Exploring equipment, tools and techniques
- Producing samples of techniques
- By producing a small portfolio containing samples, information on techniques you have learned, and photographs of projects that you have made
