Course description
If you are interested in a career in the sports, fitness and leisure industry, this BTEC Subsidiary and Extended Diploma in Sport will take you on to university or in to work. Year on year the sport and active leisure sector outperforms the rest of the UK economy, with more than 36,000 employers creating work for more than 600,000 full-time and part-time employees. You will study the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Sport Level 3 in year 1, and progress on to the BTEC Extended Diploma in year 2. During your course you will cover: - Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport - The Physiology of Fitness - Assessing Risk in Sport - Fitness Training and Programming - Sports Coaching - Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise - Practical Team Sports - Practical Individual Sports - Leadership in Sport - Exercise, Health and Lifestyle - Sport and Exercise Massage - Profiling Sports Performance You will learn soft skills, theory and PRACTICAL application of these to help with getting a job. You will also be given the opportunity to be given volunteer experience with local schools and students.
