Course description
This carpentry course allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Site Carpentry. You'll get hands-on practical experience in our purpose-built construction workshops equipped with modern machinery and technology and find out about the latest industry trends from our specialist tutors.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery Diploma must have been completed and achieved prior to this course.
GCSE maths and English at grade 3 (grade D) or above, or equivalent are required.
We will consider applicants that have some industry experience.
This qualification will not allow you to apply for a tradespersons CSCS Card. You will need an NVQ to achieve that.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
On successful completion of this course you could progress to Bench Joinery or Site Carpentry Level 3 Diploma, or an NVQ in the workplace.

Topics include:
- first fix flooring and roofing
- first fix frames, partitions and stairs
- second fixing operations
- carpentry maintenance
- Setting up and operating a circular saw
Course delivery details
There will be practical and theory classes where you will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviour required to complete a practical portfolio and to achieve online unit exams.
