Apprenticeship Standard Utilities Technician
Utilities Engineering Technicians perform reactive and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient running of the sites, supporting other disciplines as necessary.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Apprenticeship candidates will normally have 3 to 5 GCSEs at grades A to C (including mathematics, English), or equivalent qualifications. For Electrical and for Instrumentation, Control and Automation roles a good pass (B or above) in Maths GCSE (or equivalent) is desirable.
You need to be employed in a suitable position and hold a minimum level 1 (GCSE 2 to 9) maths and English or Entry Level 3 on Initial assessment. If not already achieved, the apprentice will have to achieve Level 1 English and maths and take the test for level 2 prior to taking their end-point assessment

EAL Level 2 Advanced manufacturing Engineering (foundation competence)
Mandatory Units
- Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- working efficiently and effectively in an engineering environment
- Using and communicating technical information
- Conducting business improvement activities
Practical qualification delivered and assessed a minimum of two days per week at college through formal practical assessments, after progressive training has been delivered
Functional Skills level 2 (English)
Functional Skills level 2 (Maths)
Edexcel Level 3 Diploma In Engineering – Year 1/2 (Development Knowledge) Delivered one day per week at Technology Campus, Oxford, Reading college or Guildford College
