Level 2 Plastering Diploma / NVQ

This course will provide candidates with as much knowledge of Plastering as is possible. Any candidate completing this course will find themselves entirely ready for work site employment, supported with a City & Guilds qualification and a route to NVQ level 2. This is a very comprehensive course which will leave you a confident and competent Plasterer. This course is ideal for those of you who already have a good understanding of the construction industry, specifically plastering, and who want to build on that further.

To start, you will learn a variety of plastering aspects which lead to achievement of the level 2 Plastering Diploma, certificated by City and Guilds. This is an excellent opportunity for those of you looking at a change of career to become Plasterers.

You will be trained and assessed to achieve the following units:

• Health, safety and welfare in construction
• Principles of building construction, information and communication
• Apply plastering materials to interiors
• Fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors
• Laying sand and cement screeds
• Applying plastering materials to external backgrounds

The course will teach both internal and external plastering and you will learn about preparation as well as application.

Following this aspect of the package, you will then move on to training for achievement of NVQ. This will provide additional reality training and ensure that you are ready for a real working environment and have the opportunity to achieve NVQ level 2. You will be registered with Construction Skills to show that you are working towards NVQ and this will help you generate a CSCS card should you opt to sit a Health and Safety test.

NVQs are Declarations of Competence and as such, cannot be achieved in a simulated environment like a training centre all we can do here is prepare you for the process and we do this very well.

At the end of the course, Able Skills will register you with CITB (NOCN) to show that you are working towards achieving NVQ level 2 in Solid Plastering and we will provide you with a start-up portfolio which will include all of the evidence and assessment sheets ready for you to use as and when you gather your work based evidence.

By registering you for NVQ, you can also gain access to a CSCS Experienced Worker or Trainee card (if you arrange independently to sit a CSCS test) this will further enhance your access to work.

Once you are ready to arrange work based assessments,additional fees will be payable.

This is a very in depth course and the aim is to get you to a stage whereby you can competently enter the industry and start earning an income as a Plasterer.

You will learn by practical training, demonstration and assessment. The instructors will explain in detail the processes required to undertake the various plastering aspects detailed within the Diploma the learning will be underpinned by the assessments that you will be undertaking.

This course will require a fair bit of home study commitment from you as there are also theory-based assessments required in order to complete this course and you will be provided with resources to help you undertake revision in order to complete these assessments. This will be sent to you ahead of you attending the centre and you will need to complete the work required for this before you attend the centre for the practical aspects.

We have been delivering City & Guilds plastering training qualifications for over 10 years now and this new Diploma is the natural next step for both City and Guilds and Able Skills. We have the training facilities in place to cope with these diplomas quite easily so we can guarantee you an excellent experience, learning to be a Plasterer.

All of our courses take place at our dedicated training centre in Dartford, Kent. The centre is easily accessible by road, being just 10 minutes from junction 1a on the M25. We are only a short walk from Dartford train station which is served by frequent trains taking 35 minutes from central London. For anyone travelling from further away, we have our own accommodation available at only £25 per night.

This is a12 Week (60 day) course,and the cost is£3995.00including vat. A deposit of £500.00 will secure a booking with the balance payable in 12 weekly instalments of £291.25. This course cannot be completed at weekends.
