City & Guilds Painting & Decorating Course

This is an intensive 5 weeks of hands on training, during which time you will build a portfolio of your painting and decorating work.

This painting and decorating course will provide you with in depth training during which time you will be assessed by our qualified painting and decorating Assessors and Internal Verifiers. The entire City & Guilds process is completed here on site at Able Skills which ensures this course is delivered using the correct procedures and without delay.

The Painting & Decorating Units are:

• 101 Introduction to Health and Safety
• 003 Painting Techniques
• 111 Painting and Wallpapering
• 112 Applying decorative effects
• 113 Applying wallpaper to internal and external angles and painting skirting
• 114 Painting a paneled door

This 5 weeks of hands on Painting & Decorating training will see you progress from a novice to a competent Decorator. The course is designed to build your skills gradually until the applied skills become second nature and at this Centre where reality' is important, this is easily achieved. We will provide you with the Painting & Decorating training to meet the standards as required by City & Guilds but we will also build on this to give you much more so that you will finish with a very comprehensive understanding of what is required to achieve the best job when you are undertaking painting & decorating work. The emphasis for us is on meeting and exceeding our customers' expectations. We have designed the Painting & Decorating Centre to cover various scenarios, providing separate areas for each training and assessment module.

If you are looking to achieve NVQ at level 2 then you will need training to prepare you for this. You can opt to spend another 2 weeks with us which will provide you with reality training, preparing you for the workplace and providing you with access to a CSCS card. If you feel that this is your preferred option from the outset, you may wish to consider the NVQ Level 2 option.

This course can be covered over a period to suit you and you can train for 5 consecutive weeks, divide your weeks up or even incorporate some weekend training if you have ongoing weekly commitments. At Able Skills we aim to make our qualifications as accessible as is possible and additionally we offer a payment plan which, following a deposit, is on an interest free pay as you train basis.

This is a hands-on, practical Painting & Decorating course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.

All of our courses take place at our dedicated training centre in Dartford, Kent. The centre is easily accessible by road, being just 10 minutes from junction 1a on the M25. We are only a short walk from Dartford train station which is served by frequent trains taking 35 minutes from central London. For anyone travelling from further away, we have our own accommodation available at only £25 per night.

This is a 5 week course and the cost is £2295.00 including vat. A deposit of £500.00 will secure a booking with the balance payable over the period of the training. This course is also available over 13 weekends.
