Six Sigma Green Belt Courses - Gain your Green Belt status

Six Sigma Green Belt courses are designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to lead small-scale projects and to complete them successfully, to provide much-needed support for large-scale projects, to identify and phase out waste and variation within operations, and to progress to the Black Belt level.

They are ideal for participants who will spend some of their time on process improvements, perhaps aiming to usher in small company-wide changes, or more far-reaching changes in their departments.

Six Sigma Green Belt courses provide training using the key principles of business management, including:

  • Familiarising the participant with the phases of the improvement cycle model
  • Instilling a mindset focusing on continuous improvement
  • Providing ground rules on the initiation of a six sigma project
  • Helping participants to coordinate the improvement team
  • Revealing methods for understanding work stages as parts of a process

Green Belt Training Formats

Six Sigma Green Belt Courses are typically offered as foundational introductions, refresher courses or full Green Belt certifications. Preparatory courses are also available for those looking to progress to Black Belt status. The majority of courses are offered in classroom or e-learning formats.

The Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Process

Six Sigma Green Belt courses require candidates to sit an exam and achieve results of at least 75%-80% in order to achieve Green Belt status, but standards may differ from one course provider to the next. Most training providers have no prerequisites associated with sitting this exam, but it is recommended that participants have some level of experience applying Six Sigma improvement projects and relevant training provided by a qualified institution.

As a Six Sigma Green Belt, you will be able to measure process performance, assess performance results, identify waste and work to eliminate it. You will learn the fundamentals of variation analysis, and you will be empowered to use structured techniques to stabilise processes. You should then gain the expertise to standardise improvements, lock them in and perpetuate them.
