Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma
The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma prepares students for study at degree level, including relevant subject knowledge and how to succeed in university-level coursework.
Access to HE courses can be completed in a year, or part-time over two or more years. Anyone over the age of 19 is eligible for an Access to HE course and the courses are taught at further education colleges or online.
The Access to Higher Education Diploma is recognized by universities in the UK as an alternative to ‘traditional’ qualifications for entry into undergraduate courses.
Available Subject Areas
Access to HE courses cover a wide variety of subject areas, so it’s important to find out which subject will lead to your desired degree. If you’re unsure, send an information request to the course provider and they can help you.
The top five HE subject areas are currently:
- Nursing
- Social sciences
- Business
- Education
- Arts
