Tree and Shrub Identification
This practical-based workshop will look at methods of identifying trees and shrubs using the extensive grounds of Writtle University College.
The day aims to enable participants to identify the main native and naturalised broad-leaved trees and shrubs found in the grounds. It will focus on identification from bark, twigs, buds, seeds and fruit of the trees.
We will also look at evergreen shrubs and conifers.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Participants are required to bring an A4 notepad, pen, pencil and outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather, including sturdy footwear.(Steel toe caps preferred)
