Course description
Experience working on the frontline as a carer, taking real responsibility for standards of care and supervising others in making a positive difference in someone’s life. You’ll be helping and supporting adults who are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges to achieve their personal goals. You’ll assist them in living safely and with as much independence as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives. An apprenticeship in adult care work could start a lifetime of rewarding work in the care sector. Throughout the course, you’ll be supported in gaining industry experience while you develop the skills and knowledge required to work in a range of clinical healthcare support settings and in adult care environments, particularly in a senior or supervisory capacity.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will be asked to complete and pass initial assessments for Maths and English and a written piece of work. This is to determine if this level of study is appropriate.
You must be employed in a setting for the duration of the course. This is to show workplace competence and achieve End Point Assessment.
You will be required to achieve Maths and English at Level 2 prior to end point assessment, if not held already.
Training Course Content
As a Lead Adult Care Worker, your personal attributes, values and behaviours are of paramount importance. You’ll learn the importance of communication, how to champion health and wellbeing, and how to work professionally. You will also learn what the responsibilities of a care worker are and what your duty of care to patients is in care settings.You will cover a variety of topics, including equality and inclusion, safeguarding and the protection of adults, and promoting the health and safety of patients.
Course delivery details
All units are assessed by a designated assessor using a range of methods. This will include direct observations in the workplace and written assignments.
You must complete the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care and the Care Certificate alongside this apprenticeship.
