NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma Introducing Caring for Children and Young People
What does this qualification cover?
The Level 2 Diploma Introducing Caring for Children and Young People will give learners a basic understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting. It will also help them to make an informed choice about working with children and young people.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners who require a basic understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners should be at least 14 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but Centres may have their own guidelines.
How is this qualification structured?
To be awarded the Level 2 Diploma in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People, learners must achieve a minimum of 37 credits from the optional units available.
How is it assessed?
It will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks, course work or methods such as oral questioning.
How many credits are required to complete it?
The Diploma requires 37 credits.
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
This qualification will usually be completed in one year or less.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
Some of the units need to be completed in a real work environment but the majority are knowledge based. You should check the unit information in the specification to make sure it is suitable for your learners.
What related qualifications can you progress to?
On completion of the Diploma, learners can progress to Level 2 Certificate for Children and Young Person's Workforce and the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE).
Career opportunities
This qualification is not a licence to practice and is designed to help learners progress onto higher level qualifications in childcare and education, which may eventually result in job roles such as practitioner in day nurseries, practitioner in nursery schools, practitioner in reception classes in primary schools or pre-school worker.
