NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance
What does this qualification cover?
This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of the key principles of information, advice or guidance and applying these within their own context.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for those working or looking to work in a range of roles where the provision of information, advice or guidance is a requirement.
Learners should be aged 16 or above to undertake this qualification.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance, learners must achieve a minimum of 15 credits as follows:
• a total of 6 credits from the mandatory units
• a minimum of 9 credits from the optional units
How is it assessed?
To achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance, learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units as detailed in the qualification specification. Grades are not awarded.
The Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance is internally assessed.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
It’s important to note that a number of units in this qualification require learners to consider information, advice or guidance provision in the context of their own organisation. If learners are not working (in an employed or voluntary capacity) in this context then it may be difficult to evidence some of the assessment criteria.
