This 30-credit short course develops practice in creating inclusive and enabling learning environments
This course develops the knowledge and skills needed to create inclusive and enabling learning environments for children and young people, providing rich, varied and safe spaces within which they can play, explore and learn.
You will evaluate a range of relevant theory, policy and practices, and explore physical, social, emotional and psychological enablers and barriers within the environment.
You will develop strategies to support the participation of children, young people and their families within education, children’s services and multiagency contexts.
This course has been designed with employers to ensure that it provides the knowledge and skills needed in the education and children’s services sector.

How will I learn?
You will be taught over 12 weeks beginning with a full day in-person launch conference where you can meet the other students on your course.
This will be followed by weekly evening live-online teaching sessions in the virtual classroom and flexible online learning activities to fit around your work and commitments.
These short courses will be eligible for tuition fee loans in a 3-year trial as part of the government’s preparations for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement.
You will be eligible for a tuition fee loan for your short course if you live in England, even if you have had student loans for university courses in the past.
