Supporting Education in Practice
This module is designed to meet the needs of professionals working in health & social care. The module is designed to support health care professionals who undertake an educational role to apply learning and teaching theory to their practice role.
The module forms part of the teaching for professional practice programme and The Practice Teacher qualification.

- Professional registration as a healthcare professional:
- Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Working in health and social care.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the module, you willbe able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of your learning environment with consideration of the internal and external drivers which influence your approach to education.
- Critically examine and evaluate an educational strategy used within practice-based education to optimise student-centred learning.
- Explore a learning theory which underpins your education strategy and link the learning theory to the strategy in a critical manner.

Course delivery details
For the 2022/23 curriculum, our CPD moduleswill be delivered usinghybrid learning. This means that depending on the subject and content of learning and teaching, modules will mainly be delivered via a combination of face to face and online delivery, as this has worked really well for our practice-based colleagues. A couple of modules will be delivered solely online, however for most modules face to face contact time and attendance at the university will be required.
Learning and teaching methods include:

- Small group work and large group discussions
- Role modelling
- Active learning methods, such as problem-based learning, enquiry-based learning and action learning
- Blended learning
- E-learning.
Emphasis will be placed upon work-based/practice based learning and teaching, with opportunities for youto explore and share your views and experiences with regard to the facilitation of learning and evidence-based practice within your working environment.
