Professional Liability

Professional liability remains a constant concern for all property professionals, particularly in the light of recent case law. The purpose of this popular annual course is to review the current legal position of all surveyors and other property professionals, both in managing their risk exposure proactively and in dealing with their potential liability in disputes. The emphasis is on the understanding of pitfalls and proactive approaches to risk avoidance. The course will be of interest and value to all professionals who should always be alert to liability issues and of changes arising from court decisions. It will prove invaluable to those interested in taking appointments as expert witnesses in liability-related disputes.

Anthony Lavers has pursued a career in higher education and legal practice maintaining a constant connection with surveying and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Anthony is a leading expert in his field, regularly speaking at UK and overseas CPD events, and has worked at various universities including Portsmouth, Singapore, Cambridge and Oxford Brookes. He is now counsel at the international law firm White and Case.
