Course description
Communication plays a vital role in all spheres of your life. When we talk about ‘communication’, we often mean ‘what we say’ - the words that we use. However, people exchange information, feelings, and meanings through both verbal and non-verbal communication.
Non-verbal communication is the process of sharing cues between people. These cues are usually unconscious, but often non-verbal cues can be more important than what you say.
Gaining a basic awareness of your own and other people's non-verbal communication cues can help improve your interactions with others. This course will enable you to understand your own body language cues and those of colleagues, friends and family, so that you’re able to establish better relationships.
On this short course you'll:
- discover what is non-verbal and why it matters to your success
- discuss the various types of body language
- decipher non-verbal body language - facial expressions, eye cues, body movement, gestures, tactile cues and space cues
- identify ways to make your body speak as eloquently as your words
