Contracts are central to all businesses and, due to time pressures
and financial restraints, non-lawyers are reviewing and negotiating
commercial contracts with little formal training.
You will gain a summary of the essential information required as
non-lawyers in order to review commercial contracts. Practical
examples help demystify the contracting process, explain common
contractual provisions and identify key areas of risk to be aware
of when entering a commercial contract. This course is equally
applicable to those in property and non-property sectors.
The learning outcomes for this course provide an understanding of:
• key elements of contract formation
• the difference between express and implied terms contract
structure
• common legal phrases such as “subject to contract”,
“indemnity” and “joint and several liability” boilerplate clauses
such as force majeure, assignment, governing law and entire
agreement
• penalty clauses and liquidated damages
Course Costs
- The standard price for a half day course is £105.00
- For Individual and Organisations booking three or more half day courses at one time can obtain the courses for £90.00 each course as a multirate discount
- For APC candidates/Retired attendees/Apprenticeship rate - the price is £70.00 per course
