Course description
This module forms part of the postgraduate certificate pathway in Angiography. The module will provide a structured and monitored experiential learning opportunity that will enable the student to:
- safely and competently contribute to angiographic and interventional procedures;
- critically evaluate angiographic images and implement appropriate action to maximize the diagnostic yield of examinations.
The learning in the module will utilise the knowledge and understanding gained in the co requisite module and apply it to the students own clinical practice. The students will undertake routine angiography examinations of a wide range of anatomical regions/systems for a variety of clinical indications in their clinical placement. In addition the student will complete a record of clinical experience, undertake performance assessments of their practice, and complete work-based projects/case studies as part of learning process which will include a critical appraisal of published literature and reflection on their own practice. This learning will be supplemented by lectures in areas of practice. Tutorials will be used to facilitate sharing of information by students and learning from each other. The VLE will be used to support the students learning and to facilitate sharing and collaboration in problem solving.
