Course delivery details
Unit EC1 is a taught unit assessed by a two-hour written examination. The examination consists of ten ‘short-answer’ questions and one ‘long-answer’ question. All questions are compulsory. Candidate scripts are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.
Unit EC2 requires the candidate to carry out an environmental review of a workplace or organisation and produce a justified action plan to improve performance. This practical application must be completed and returned to the course provider by a date determined by them and normally within 10 working day of the exam.
- The eight-hour assessment comprises of an open book exam (Unit EMC1) and assessed assignment (Unit EMC2).
- In the five-hour exam, you respond to a scenario and answer theoretical and practical questions covered in the NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate course content.
- The three-hour assignment asks you to assess environmental aspects and impacts in your workplace or a place of work you can visit.
You’re assessed based on your ability to demonstrate awareness of environmental issues, plus recognise, explain, discuss and plan strategies to manage environmental factors, creating positive ethical and fiscal outcomes, that benefit your business.
