Suitability - Who should attend?
This course is for auditors that require training as outlined in 9104/3 Table 1 — Requirement for 9100 and 9120 (EN 9100/9120) evidence of industry knowledge (see 4.4.1), for auditor authentication and entry onto the OASIS database as an Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA).
This course will provide evidence of Continuing Professional Development for existing Aerospace Auditors.
Prerequisites
There are no specific prerequisites, however the course is aimed at Auditors who have completed the AATT (2023) and don’t have the necessary industry experience.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
You will have the knowledge to:
- Implement and understand APQP and PPAP as per the 9145 standard
- Manage and control changes effectively to maintain system integrity and compliance
- Apply best practices for containment, cause analysis, and corrective action to address issues efficiently as outlined in 9136
- Ensure product/material configuration, identification, and traceability, maintaining records and compliance with aerospace standards
- Identify critical items and key characteristics and manage variation as per 9103, enhancing product consistency and reliability
- Navigate the design, development, verification, and validation processes specific to aerospace, ensuring products meet rigorous safety and performance standards
- Conduct First Article Inspection in accordance with 9102 to verify manufacturing process capability and product readiness for aerospace applications
- Manage aerospace external provider quality requirements flowdown, approval, and control to ensure supply chain compliance and product quality
- Understand and apply human factors, including considerations of human error and performance limitations, to improve safety and efficiency in aerospace operations
- Implement FOD prevention program requirements as per 9146, minimizing risks associated with foreign object damage
You will learn the skills to:
- Oversee material handling and preservation of mechanical and electrical/electronic products, ensuring their integrity and functionality
- Operate a nonconforming material system as per aerospace standards, managing nonconformities effectively to maintain product and process integrity
- Apply operational risk management principles to identify and mitigate risks in aerospace operations
- Grasp the principles of ASD regulatory authority requirements (Civil, Military, and Space), including roles, responsibilities, and sources for additional information, relevant to the course’s location
- Prevent, identify, and control counterfeit/unapproved parts according to standards AS6496, AS6081, AS5553, & AS6174, ensuring the authenticity and compliance of components
- Understand and apply the Safety Management System (SMS), addressing components, elements, assessment processes, hazard identification, risk analysis, and the sustainment and continual improvement of aviation safety
- Emphasise the principle of product safety in aerospace, ensuring products are designed and manufactured with the highest safety standards
- Oversee production processes and product verification/validation to ensure products meet specified requirements and standards
- Understand special processes and the Nadcap accreditation program, ensuring specialised manufacturing processes meet industry standards
- Apply sampling inspection/testing requirements and understand their limitations as per 9138, ensuring products meet quality and reliability standards
