The University of Sheffield - Apprenticeship Training
The University provides apprenticeship training in a range of engineering disciplines - manufacturing, mechanical, maintenance, technical support, fabrication/welding, tool making, pattern making - from level 2 to degree apprenticeships. Practical training is delivered in Centre, continuing with on-the-job training in the workplace. This is assessed against a set of national standards. Practical work is supported by BTEC Nationals, HNCs, Foundation and Top-up degrees relating to the apprenticeship framework. Training and theory are delivered by either time served engineers or lecturers with first and second degrees in engineering disciplines.
