Course description
The aim of this one day interactive course is to discuss the important aspects of nursing the critically ill horse with a particular emphasis on the horse with colic and sick foals. We will aim to discuss appropriate triage, catheter placement and care to include over the wire catheters, initial stabilisation and monitoring, nutrition, options for analgesia and other newer pharmacological agents that may benefit these patients. These topics will be illustrated with case examples.
