Course description

The University of Nottingham

The highly practical course is aimed at the equine practitioner who wants to further their knowledge about lower airway disease. There will be an update on the terminology and most appropriate diagnostic tests to use in these cases as well as a number of interactive cases to work through. The afternoon practical session will include thoracic ultrasound, lung sampling techniques including pleurocentesis, performing and interpreting cytology, lung biopsies, repair of rib fractures and foal resuscitation techniques.

The course structure is 80% Practical; 20% Teaching
