Treatment of Migraine and Other Headache Disorders
Headache disorders are the most prevalent of the neurological conditions and among the most frequent of medical complaints seen in general practice. This course provides the student with the opportunity to examine and evaluate the issues related to these conditions, and the application of appropriate principles, diagnosis and management of headache in clinical practice.
The aim of this course is to make you aware of some of the treatments that can be offered to the headache patient.

Suitability - Who should attend?
The CPD course is suitable for healthcare professionals with an interest, or practice base, in headache or pain management. There are no minimum entry requirements; however, to gain the most from the CPD courses, we would strongly suggest that applicants also:
- Hold a higher education qualification, for example Diploma, BSc (Hons) or BA (Hons), in a healthcare related field,
- Have been a qualified healthcare professional for a minimum of two years before entry to the into the course, and,
- Be sufficiently fluent in English reading, listening and writing to engage effectively with other learners.

Learning Outcomes
- Understand if a patient should be receiving preventative treatments in conjunction with acute forms of treatment
- Be able to recognise if the patient has been provided with an appropriate treatment plan to match their headache condition
- Be able to advise the patient if he/she is taking the treatments properly
- Recognise that pharmacologic therapy is not the only form of treatment available
