Course description
The R3VT Accelerator
The R3VT Accelerator is designed to equip your staff with practical Revit knowledge as well as give them the confidence to integrate with staff members and design team members alike.
As someone with a number of years of experience in the industry, I've seen a lot of different training styles. They all seem to have one thing in common, they're all focused on the software.
This is where The R3VT Accelerator is different. The course is designed to focus on how learners can use the software practically and efficiently in their office environment.
The R3VT Accelerator is also unique in its approach to encouraging learners to interact with senior staff members. The course also aims to encourage learners to be more active in the design process, encouraging them to ask questions about what they're being asked to model. This leads to individuals that can spot when things aren't quite right in the model and on drawings, as well as individuals that are willing to discuss the design with engineers and senior colleagues alike

Module Overview
Getting started with Revit
This module covers the Revit user interface, and important commands and begins to look at the presentation of drawings.
Setting up a project and creating your first drawing
You'll begin to look at how to use templates, and how to locate and insert different families into the project. We also look at how to place gridlines & levels along with beginning to set up a drawing.
Adding framing elements to a model
You start to progress further and begin to look at how to start adding beams to your model. This also covers the use of reference planes and how they are beneficial when modelling sloped elements such as purlins.
Creating elevations and sections
Now you've got a model together, it's time to start creating some of the more detailed drawings for a project. In this module, you'll look at creating elevations and sections and why these are important to a project.
Setting up a project and using a linked model
You'll often be asked to set up a project using an architect's model as a background link. This is what you'll look at during this module. You'll learn the correct procedure for loading the link, how to use the link to benefit you moving forward and also how to deal with changes that arise.
Updating drawings and using revisions
In this final module, you'll look at how to use automatic revisions in Revit, along with why revision clouds are crucial on drawings. You'll also look how to highlight changes to an engineer and how to have a conversation with the engineer about these changes.
Course delivery details
The course is a series of guided walkthrough videos for learners to watch in their own time. There are typically 2 weeks between each module.
