Are you thinking of applying for a degree in humanities or social science but don’t have the right qualifications you need for university? Don’t worry – this Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in Social Science is the ideal way to develop the foundational skills and relevant grades you’ll need.During this year-long diploma, you’ll study modules in psychology, sociology and criminology. You will cover sociological theory, education, non-verbal communication and crime causation. You’ll also develop all the skills you’ll need for success at university too, including setting targets and reflective practice, critical analysis, debate and research skills. This will ensure you’ll fully prepared to continue your journey and face any challenge as you advance onto a higher-level course.

What do I need to know?
To be eligible for this Access To Higher Education Diploma in Social Science, you’ll need to have GCSEs in Maths and English Language and Science at Grade C or above, as this is typically requested by universities. Alternatively, you’ll need to be studying at least one of these subjects to GCSE level alongside your Access programme. As with most medical-based university courses, work experience is always desirable. We strongly suggest that you organise a placement in a care setting either before you start or during the early stages of your course, in order to increase your progression options.
