What will I learn?
Have you ever thought about working in the science or medical profession and becoming a zoologist, medical scientist, biochemist, or chemical engineer? If you don’t yet have the necessary qualifications to follow one of these career paths, but are eager to get started, then this Access to Higher Education Diploma in Combined Science could be the ideal course for you. You’ll study a variety of topics from all science disciplines; biology, chemistry, and physics, along with some units focusing on developing your maths skills. Areas you’ll look at include the human cardiovascular systems and the exchange and transport of gases, as well as organic chemistry, reacting amounts and non-ionising and medical imaging. The Combined Science Access to Higher Education Diploma is designed to give you the foundation knowledge you need to go on to more specialised courses, using a variety of teaching methods, both theoretical and practical, to help you succeed.

What do I need to know?
To be eligible for this Access to Higher Education Diploma, you’ll need to have a GCSE grade C or above in both Maths and English Language. We’ll also invite you for an informal interview to check you have the suitable skills and commitment to complete the course.
