Course description
High Performance Project Teams
The research is very clear—projects in today’s technically advanced, complex environment invariably fail in meeting most if not all of their objectives. And yet very few projects fail because technical problems can’t be resolved. Projects don’t fail because technical challenges can’t be met, but from the process of organizing, planning and executing complex work through people. How you do your work (the process), is now more important to project success than what you do technically (the content).
And the project team is a critical part of that process. Yet most teams only reach some small semblance of their potential performance. So, typical project progress follows the path of the team’s success. Successful teams are focused, interdependent, and highly collaborative and action oriented with a direction to a common goal, shared responsibility. So, PM’s must step up and build team performance.
