Course description
Tariff Classification Explained
Join us on this interactive Virtual Classroom session designed for anyone involved in classifying goods whether for import, export or EU trade. It looks at the background to the tariff, the structure of the Integrated Tariff of the UK and explains the structure of commodity codes, providing useful tips on understanding tariff classification and finding the correct commodity codes for your goods. The Rules relating to tariff classification, eg the GIR’s, Binding Tariff rulings (BTIs) will be explained as well as the link between commodity codes and other international trade procedures, eg duties, preference, prohibitions and restrictions.
Practical session allows Participants to review the rules for their own products by going on-line and using the tariff, but the presenters will not have time to classify specific products. This is a great introduction and an essential guide to an important area of international trade that will also look at the new UK Global Tariff and Brexit issues.
Now includes a 3-hour e-learning awareness session to explain Customs Declaration processes and procedures.
