Course description

TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Improving Personal Exercise, Health and Nutrition - Funded Online Course

This qualification aims to equip you with a comprehensive understanding of the concepts of health and well-being, including basic anatomy and physiology. Through this course you will learn about the role of nutrition in exercise, including energy requirements and fluid replacement, and then learn about how to measure personal fitness levels and create a personal programme of exercise and nutrition.

Please note: You are required to complete a fitness test as part of this course. If you become unable to be active and therefore cannot complete the fitness tests (i.e a timed walk) or log anything in your exercise plan (this could be from any fitness level start point such as stretches, walking, a physio plan, etc), a pass cannot be given.

Training Course Content

Understand health, well-being and exercise

In this unit, you will cover the concepts of health and well-being, factors that could have a negative impact on health and well-being, factors that can affect personal motivation, and the basics of anatomy and physiology.

Understand the role of nutrition in exercise

You will learn about diet and nutrition, energy requirements and fluid replacement for exercise.

Plan and prepare for personal exercise and nutrition

In the third and final unit of this course, your employees will learn about the importance of exercising safely, how to measure personal fitness levels, how to follow an appropriate personal programme of exercise and nutrition, and how to evaluate a personal programme of exercise and nutrition.

Course delivery details

Course Length: On average, this course is completed within 5 – 10 weeks. But the more time you dedicate, the sooner you can complete it. The pace of the learning is up to you.

  • You were born before the 31st August 2001
  • You must currently live in Greater London
  • You have lived in the European Union for the last 3 years (unless you have have been given a special Visa/Residence permits that gives you the permanent right to remain)
  • Are Unemployed and can provide evidence (Subject to eligibility)
  • Can provide Identifications and relevant documentation as required
  • If on the 31st of August 2019, you were aged between 19-23, you need to have gained a full level 2 qualification (e.g. five or more GCSE/O-Levels at grades A* – C / 4 – 9, one A-Level, two/three AS-Levels, five or more CSE grade 1’s, GNVQ Intermediate, QCF Diploma Level 2)
