Course description
Introduction
This course focuses on developing Social Skills, independence in the home and introducing attributes needed for work. It also encourages and supports student progression to higher courses. This course enables individuals to function meaningfully, productively and as independently as possible in their communities. It provides an environment and a range of opportunities which students can develop.
You will cover:
Communication skills
Self-esteem and confidence
Self advocacy
Personal presentation
Accessing the community
Maturity
Positive relationships leading to an optimum quality of life
Students will participate in enterprise activities and have the opportunity to engage in work experience. This could be internally throughout the college or externally with selected employers.
