Course description
What will I learn?
Our craft courses will teach you a range of creative skills you can use to start a small business making and selling your own unique products. They're also a great way to improve your dexterity, meet new people and develop an interest.
Introduction
Learn the basics of hand knitting, then experiment and develop ideas or work from commercially produced patterns on this very design-led course.
At the end of the course you will be able to:
Knit in rows using at least two stitches
Knit at least one cable stitch
Increase and decrease stitches for shaping
Join seams and use different finishing techniques
Identify techniques and use technical language
Design and make your own simple project
Have the opportunity to share skills and ideas.
There will be individual and group tuition, with teacher led discussions and demonstrations.
Assessment
Assessment is on-going with teacher feedback, individual learning plans, self and peer assessment.
